Crazy Love with Dr. W. Morales
Series:Crazy Love
Crazy Love: Stop Praying

What if I said, “Stop Praying?” What if I told you stop talking AT God for a while, but instead take a long, hard look at Him before you speak another word?
I just reviewed some finding of the Hubble telescope and thought, Earth, Our Solar System, our Galaxy is one of 350,000,000,000 galaxies, then we have the Universe!
We have no clue at the power of the God we serve!!!! Not just us, but even one of the greatest leaders in the History of Israel did not even know His Name!!
“But Moses protested, “If I go to the people of Israel and tell them, ‘The God of your ancestors has sent me to you’, they will ask me, ‘What is his name?’ Then what should I tell them?” God replied to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM. Say this to the people of Israel: I AM has sent me to you.”
Exodus 3:13-14, NLT

Moses encounter with God was an amazing revelation…
1) God took Moses away from ALL his distractions in Egypt
2) God specifically was working in Moses Life before Moses even knew Him…the Burning bush was not the beginning of Moses journey… it started on a River called the Nile where he would return and Judge the King!!!
3) God called, qualified, and commissioned Moses without any regard to Moses qualifications but GOD’S.
4) If you carefully read Exodus, you will find God tell Moses many times, “I WILL” (Deliver, cut off, set free, send plagues, etc.)

MOSES QUESTION TO GOD REVEALS THAT MOSES HAD NO IDEA WHO HE WAS DEALING WITH!!!

GOD’S ANSWER REVEALS THAT GOD KNOWS WHO HE HIMSELF IS… THE I AM!

R.C. Sproul (In his book , The Holiness of God) said, “Men are never duly touched and impressed with a conviction of their insignificance, until they have contrasted themselves with the majesty of God.”

Who is God?
1) God is holy
2) God is eternal
3) God is all knowing
4) God is all powerful
5) God is fair and just
6) God’s names throughout the Bible give us a glimpse at the vastness of Who He is…

In the early 80’s, I gave my Life to Christ. FOR THE FIRST TIME, I began to Learn who God really was!!! Consequently, my love for Him had no limits, I gave 20% of my hard earned income, I spent 2-3 hours a day in direct ministry related activities while maintaining a full time job, I shared the Gospel with all who came near me, I drove my family insane with my “fanaticism” and I was labeled a “Crazy Christian” by many.
YOU KNOW WHAT… I DID NOT CARE… I WAS IN LOVE!

In our world, where hundreds of things distract us from God, we have to intentionally and consistently remind ourselves of Him.
“For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16, NLT
16 We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters. 1 John 3:16, NLT
Jesus is in the business of giving people a fresh start.
The apostle Peter says, “Because Jesus was raised from the dead, we’ve been given a brand-new life and have everything to live for, including a future in heaven” (1 Peter 1:3-4 MSG).

Several things happen once you give your life to Christ:
• You open up your life to God and get to know him.
• You’re given a brand new life, which gives you everything to live for.
• You get a future in Heaven.
Everything that we have —
right thinking and right living, a clean slate and a fresh start — comes from God by way of Jesus Christ” (1 Corinthians 1:30).

Your challenge today…

I will close with the same line that I began… what if I asked you to “STOP PRAYING”? Instead of talking AT God, bask in His presence. THIS WEEK:

S— Sit still in the quietness of your devotional
T— Turn off all distractions
O— Only FOCUS ON GOD and a specific VERSE
P— Pray with Purpose—Worship
